International Social Housing Festival (ISHF) 2022

The HOUSEFUL partner Housing Europe is one of the organisers of the 2022 edition of ISHF and will hold a workshop to discuss on circularity in social housing.

After the edition in Amsterdam in 2017, and the one in Lyon in 2019, this year International Social Housing Festival (ISHF) will take place in Helsinki from 14 to 17 June.

This edition is organized by The Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland (ARA), the City of Helsinki and Housing Europe.

The main purpose of the festival is to explore housing as the foundation of a good life, as well as to highlight the role of social, public and cooperative housing in achieving socially and ecologically sustainable living in our cities now, and in the future.

Housing Europe, in cooperation with the Drive0 project, will be organizing a HOUSEFUL related workshop: Circular renovation of affordable housing – let us show you how! that will take place on 15 June from 1 to 3 p.m. (EET).
 
The goal of the workshop session is to explore how social providers can plan and successfully execute circular building renovations in a resource and cost-efficient way. 
Faced with the need to maximize energy savings while reducing their carbon footprint, social housing providers have shown an increasing willingness to move towards circular solutions when renovating their building stock. 
However, the lack of awareness of the products available on the market, their real impact on performance and savings and cost, is making social housing providers reluctant to invest in circularity at a greater scale. 
This session aims to demystify circular construction and design and provide social housing companies with the knowledge and solutions necessary to make informed decisions to roll out a circular renovation in their buildings.
The workshop will be structured in 3 steps:
  • Step 1: identifying local resources and needs -> co-define criteria
  • Step 2: look at the solutions available from Drive 0 and HOUSEFUL Products, techniques, processes
  • Step 3: selection of solutions and design your renovation
